Oshkosh Flight Preparation-Monday, July 25 Herbert (Jay) Drury and I fly to Oshkosh for the second time in two years. We’ll leave in the afternoon and we hope to make it there long before sunset. Oshkosh is an aviators dream come true. Everything you want to do or know about aviation can be found here in Oshkosh, Wisconsin; exhibits, seminars, workshops, airplanes, helicopters, gyros, lighter than air and of course tens of thousands of aviation enthusiasts too. Any one of the former may be a walking encyclopedia on at least on aspect of aviation. Bottom line? Oshkosh is aviation immersion. Even when you are napping airplanes may be rocketing over your head. Oshkosh is an indelible and truly unforgetable experience.  Airventure 24-30 July 2016, Oshkosh WI

A little about me and how I started

I started my friendship with small airplanes in the Army at age 19 as an aircraft repairman and crew chief from 1966-69. I maintained and flew in Beavers, Otters, Queen Air, and just about every helicopter the Army had in its arsenal. It was 1997 when I landed my dream, a private pilot’s license with USAF Aero Club, Hanscom AFB.
